SJYO Volunteer Opportunities
In order for the SJYO to succeed, we require full parental support and participation. A tremendous level of parent support and participation makes a crucially positive statement to each and every SJYO member, when they see parents involved in the important role. A high level of volunteer participation also has a positive impact when discussed in grant applications and requests for sponsors and donations. Please share your interests, time, ideas, and talents to support the SJYO and your children (Exerpt from 2006-2007 SJYO Handbook, p.7)
Rehearsal Manager
Help coordinate rehearsal set-up, room access, and clean-up.
Marketing the Youth Orchestra
Contact newspapers, radio stations, and other media outlets about the SJYO and its events.
Write, or get others to write, press releases about our organization and our events.
The more people that know about the great things we do, the better it will be for the young
musicians of the SJYO.
Recording Media Specialist
We are looking for a volunteer to record our concerts on dvd. This person would need to have their own
recording equipment.
